Description
The AB Guide To Music Theory
is intended to help people learning music to understand how music is written down, what the various signs and symbols denote, and what is meant by the common technical words used by musicians. Arising out of this, it provides an introduction to the basic elements in harmony and musical structure.
In the main, this book deals with the subjects of the Associated Board's theory syllabus for Grades 1-5. However, for the sake of continuity, the information has not been broken up to correspond with individual grades.

Excellent and easy to follow. I have used this book in conjunction with the AB Music theory books for many years and, used correctly, it provides lots of easily explained information on a subject many children and adults find quite daunting.

Excellent book for using alongside actual lessons with a qualified teacher. But can be used just as well for those people who are self-taught
Anon.
Very valuable for that piece of sheet music that has just the one symbol on it that you don't understand. It makes a great reference book but the way it is written is very much like a school book and not very easy to understand. I would still recommend it for just the sake of finding out when a symbol is killing you! Very concise up to grade 6 piano i would say. I recommend, good price too!
