Peter Maxwell Davies: Seven Songs Home

Seven songs for children's voices, commissioned by the Zoltan Kodaly society to celebrate Kodaly's centenary. Tuneful and challenging songs for unaccompanied children's voices SAA, suitable for class and concert. The text by the composer is full of appealing references to life in the Orkneys and tells the story of a child's journey between leaving and reaching home again. Includes 'At The Shore', 'The Heather Track' and 'Tractor Ride'.
The first performance took place at the Academy of Sciences, Budapest, in December 1982. It was given by the Children's Choir of Miskolc Music Primary School No. 6.
