I have a student with a learning disability who is a little older than most young beginner students. This book has allowed her to learn at a basic level, but unlike many other beginner books, the pieces are great. The accompaniments, in particular, are really beautiful and imaginative. We have had a lot of fun with this book, and I'll definitely be moving other students over to the Hal Leonard series.

I have found the Hal Leonard series to be extremely helpful and concise. The great thing about it is that it gets the pupil playing the Piano from day one, and within a couple of lessons they're playing some simple but great sounding music. All of the pieces have teacher accompaniments which helps the pupil to feel like they're playing some pretty impressive stuff. Above all, my pupils love it and are really enjoying learning to play piano!
