Staff Rating A clear guide with a clarity that might succeed where other methods have failed! Everything in this guide is made as clear as possible by an uncomplicated mix of pictures, fret-board diagrams, notation and tablature. Though this is an effective and complete beginners method, there are no fully playable songs to speak of, so I recommend supplementary repertoire of your choice for light relief!

Customer Rating This book is one of the best I could've chosen. It is very easy to follow, with great backing tracks to play along to. It contains all you need to know if you're just starting with bass, like I am.

Customer Rating I new to music - haven't done music since my teens and I'm almost 50 now. I love the DVD - and book. It took me about a month to be able to play everything just right. The pace was perfect for a raw beginner. I have other beginner books - but most progress much too quickly.

Customer Rating This is a fantastic simple guide to beginning the bass, it took me 3 hours to do this book from cover to cover and from barely knowing what a bass looked like, to being confident and able to learn further.

Customer Rating I agree with the other reviewers - this is an excellent introduction. It took me longer than three hours and I had some difficulty with the faster notes, but got over them and really improved.

Customer Rating Perfect title, plain and simple as to what it is.
The book arrived next day by post and was in perfect condition thanks to the cardboard sleeve, well presented. The book itself is perfect for beginners like myself as it is plain speaking and no assumtion's that you can read music. It takes you through each string virtually and how to tune your bass before starting. Then with a little bit of concentration you are playing the Bass. It's as it say's, it will get you started and give a solid learning platform. The rest is up to you.
