Customer Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating This is a good book if you are really keen on learning the theory side of music as well as the practical. It also helps to understand music when playing an instrument because you know where a certain sign/note/rest comes from. I recommend this to all keen players.
Laura

Customer Rating Great preparation for the exam, when supplemented with good teaching! Not really aimed at young children, who might find the exercises boring and the language a bit serious, but gets the point across.

Customer Rating As a 70-year-old plus who learned the violin at school (Grade V) but rarely played since, I recently resumed violin lessons with an excellent teacher who insisted I study the theory, too. Hence I have completed the Eric Taylor Music Theory in Practice Grade 1 with great satisfaction and am now working on Grade 2.
I would recommend this series to anyone, young or old, because of of the clarity and thoroughness of its presentation, the ampleness of examples given to be worked at and the 'user-friendliness' of its approach.
I have already bought and look forward to working through Grades 3, 4 and 5 and wonder why I never did this before.
Benedict

Customer Rating An excellent workbook to prepare for the Grade 2 Theory exam, or simply to learn the Grade 2 syllabus. Suitable for children 11+ and adults alike.

Customer Rating An excellent aid when trying to learn the basics of music theory. There are plently of useful excersizes and examples which can help you along the way.
Paired with the AB Guide to Music Theory, these chain of music theory books are really a godsend when trying to prepare for exams.
