Location/History

Situated in the Medieval Cathedral City of Salisbury, we are the largest and best-known music shop in the area. In the same premises once home to Percy Priors, and before that Stangers, we still enjoy dealing with many of the same customers, not to mention some of the same staff! The musicroom maxim is "Everything for the Musician" - Instruments, Sheet Music and Accessories.

At the junction of Catherine Street/Milford Street, we are just a 2-minute walk from the Market Square and the Guildhall. We are less than 10 minutes from Salisbury mainline Train Station, and less than 5 minutes from the Salisbury Bus Station.

There is limited street-parking available in Catherine Street itself, or ample and convenient parking available in Brown Street Car Park, immediately behind Catherine Street. There are several other conveniently located public Car Parks which cater to the various shopping malls.

Range

We are an approved instrument dealer for several of the biggest and best suppliers, including Fender, Roland and Yamaha. Our Rock department carries a huge range of Acoustic and Electric guitars, as well as traditional and digital Drumkits, not to mention the enormous collection of Amplifiers, FX pedals, Headphones and Microphones. Alongside this is an array of Pop & Rock music - from chord books and "playalong" tuition books to entire anthologies from a broad spectrum of artists.

We cater to the Classical musician too, offering a broad range of Brass, Woodwind and Stringed instruments, including Clarinets, Flutes, Saxophones, Trumpets and Violins. Within the Folk department, you will find Banjos and Bongos, Didgeridoos and Djembes, Mandolins, Melodicas and Whistles. Naturally, our vast selection of accessories is designed to meet every requirement.

We are home to the largest Sheet Music library in the South, with a range covering Brass, Choral & Vocal, Piano, Organ, Strings and Woodwind, not to mention Theory and Tutor Books. From the Contemporary to the Classical, you're sure to find something of interest. We also hold Examination Syllabus Material for all main Examining Boards, considerable Primary School Resources and a selection of scores and ensemble music.

We also stock an impressive selection of tutorial DVDs which are an effective visual aid for either beginners who are learning a new instrument or intermediate to advanced players looking to perfect new styles and techniques.

Services

We offer an in-store tuning and re-stringing service - just ask behind the counter. We keep a database of local instrument teachers, which is useful for those new to the area or simply new to the instrument. We are also able to provide a subcontracted repair service for most instruments. Our highly-commended mail order service is fast and efficient - if we can get it ourselves, we can get it to you!
