2 new trombone books featuring Ian Bousfield (of Vienna Philharmonic) in stock
3 November 2009
We have two new trombone books in stock (with CD's) featuring Ian Bousfield of Vienna Philharmonic. The books we have are:
The Enchanted Trombone (£12.50), and Melodic studies for trombone (£11.95).
The Enchanted Trombone
In this book, Ian Bousfield, principal Trombonist of the Vienna Philharmonic, presents eight versatile pieces by Allen Vizzutti. Trombone players get the chance to be guided by Ian's artful performance of the pieces on the CD, or to use him as an inspiration for their own interpretation.
The relatively short individual compositions can be wonderfully combined to form longer suites. For performance, you can either make use of the Piano accompaniments provided on the CD, or a pianist playing from the printed score.
Melodic studies for Trombone
"Varied pieces from talented composers, written for trombonists who are not afraid of a challenge" - that sums up this book in one sentence.
The 19 solo pieces in this collection are not intended for beginners, but will appeal to many trombonists. They are valuable études and - thanks to their melodic character - entertaining performance pieces at the same time. Players can take inspiration from Ian Bousfield, principal trombonist of the Vienna Philharmonic, who has recorded all the pieces on the included CD, and then go on to develop their own interpretation.
