Simon has worked in Musical Instrument Retail since 1996, and began working for Musicroom the following year, progressing to Store Manager in 2002. Having worked in this industry for many years, he has built up a vast amount of product knowledge, specialising in Sheet Music and many different types of Instruments. His musical influences include early-mid 90’s rock, indie, grunge and just about everything 80’s. His favourite artist is the legendary Indie band ‘James’.

Phil has a love for many kinds of music and much love for the vinyl medium, He began his employment at the store in 2005 so has a broad knowledge of all things musical. As well as being the assistant manager he carries out all the fretted stringed instrument repairs and setups we have come in to the store. Musical Influences include rock, blues, jazz, funk, soul, world, pop & electronic (to name a few).

As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Mathew has spent most of his life touring and arranging music. Receiving a BA (Hons) in Performance Industries and a PTTLS qualification, he also works outside of Musicroom as a ‘Song Writing’ and ‘Music Business’ lecturer at H.E level. You can catch him performing with 9 piece Funk, Soul and Jazz group ‘SHHB’ as their musical director. Musical Influences include Pop, Soul, Funk, Motown, Blaxploitation, Rare Groove, Indie & Electronica.

Andy has been playing guitar for many years and also teaches. He has a varied taste in music with a particular passion for folk and all things rock. Home recording is a favourite hobby. He has six years experience in music retail.

Benjamin is our newest employee at the store, joining in March 2015. He’s a multi-instrumentalist specialising in, but not limited to, Brass, and Keys. When not working or studying Further Mathematics at Exeter College, Benjamin enjoys performing in musicals in and around Exeter, having starred in Les Miserables, The Pirates Of Penzance, and many more. Benjamin is a lover of all things musical taking inspiration from Freddie Mercury, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Ball. Musical Influences include Queen, The Beatles, Dick Dales, Tim Minchin
