The pianist Art Tatum died more than fifty years ago, yet his amazing playing and recordings left an indelible mark on jazz and continue to astonish and inspire excellence for today's pianists in all genres of music.

Art Tatum was one of the most brilliant pianists - in any genre - who ever lived. This is the second of an eight CD, 188-track set comprised of previously unissued broadcast performances by the legendary jazz pianist.

This 71-minute CD (20 tunes) is comprised of music previously released on four Storyville LPs in 1980, 1986 & 1987.
The CD is in five parts, each featuring Jesper Thilo together with a prominent American musician: Clark Terry, Harry ”Sweets” Edison, Roland Hanna, Kenny Drew and Al Grey.
Besides the famous American guests, these sessions also feature the best Danish jazz musicians.

This is the second CD in Storyville's series of Danish tenor saxophonist Jesper Thilo's small group sessions in Copenhagen in the 1980's.
