Colourful, engaging, good progressions. Interesting how many children have no idea what some of the 'popular' tunes/ nursery rhyme/ playground songs are!
Every now and again I want more 'both hands together' but it is generally a very good book for lower primary school aged children playing the piano

It's mostly logical and well-presented and colourful. Most of the tunes are good and the duets are also mostly good. The pace is relatively slow, which is suitable for most beginner pianists.
It introduces students to 3 new notes in the left hand - C, D and E below Middle C, but doesn't do the equivalent for the right hand - only up to A above Middle C is taught in the right hand. This means the student finishes the book knowing more notes in the Left hand than the Right.

Lovely pictures, inspiring pieces for little ones.
After an easy start the difficulty increases significantly. it would be good to have a few simpler and shorter pieces at the start to ease into the second book.
