Descripción
The miniature score of this spectacular and expansive orchestral composition by Felix Mendelssohn. It was inspired by the desolate and rocky Hebridian islands, the squarking sea gulls, the fish and the surrounding turbulent seas. Fingal’s Cave is the sole attraction of one of these small rocky islands and here remarkable basalt formations and impressive pillars like organ pipes can be found. Musically Mendelssohn has painted the sea and the raging storms to capture the essence and savage beauty of these islands whilst maintaining a sense of realism.
Eulenberg's celebrated and highly authoritative miniature score is the definitive reference source for study, performance preparation, or simply for those with a love of the great orchestral works.
