Descripción

One of the Four Motets composed in 1921 while studying with Nadia Boulanger in Paris. A dignified but altogether vernacular piece, with direct, uncomplicated harmonies which contrast with the avant-garde allusions of the time, but which are typical of Copland's work. This church anthem has been set for full mixed choir and also includes a keyboard part for rehearsal purposes only. The complete Four Motets work is made up of:
