Höfner Classical Guitars have won many important prizes, including the Deutschen Musikinstrumentenpreis (awarded by the State of Germany) and several recommendations by the EGTA (European Guitar Teachers Association).
Despite this recognition, Höfner has continued to research improvements. In numerous tests their master Guitar makers have made modifications to the design and tested the effects on the sound. The result is the HF and HZ ranges: high quality instruments that represent excellent value for money in terms of craftsmanship and sound.
The HF 12 features a solid German spruce top, Flamed aningré body and matt finish. It has been awarded the coveted EGTA Recommendation, with the following comments:
"... powerful sound with plentiful sustain and a "brilliant" tone at the upper end of the fretboard, effortless response ... numerous timbres, excellent value for money."
