Glasvegas are the buzz band of the moment – heralded as the best new band in Britain by the press, storming to No. 2 in the charts with their debut album (only being narrowly beaten to the top by Metallica!), and leaping from obscurity to the pride of Scotland seemingly overnight.
However, singer/songwriter James Allan’s blend of Phil Spector-esque pop melodies with Jesus And Mary Chain fuzz, topped with his own emotional vocals, suggests a musical depth which will see Glasvegas outlast the hype.
