This is the first CD release of the 1977 LP of the same name which was recorded in a studio in Copenhagen. The music consists of classic New Orleans/traditional jazz numbers. Gustav Winckler was one of Denmark's most famous crooners and known as 'Denmark's Bing Crosby'. For the Danes, the combination of Papa Bue and Gustav Winckler on this album - two of the absolute most popular musical acts in Denmark - was a match made in heaven, as the listener will also soon discover.
Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband delivers yet another dynamic and captivating set, performing pure classic New Orleans favourites and combining evergreens with intense improvised jazz solos. The CD is further enhanced by the guest appearance of the famous American cornetist .
