Here's your chance to encounter the composers of 18th century Scotland with a special selection of pieces for Violin (Flute or Oboe) and Piano, with optional Cello part and a CD of play-along tracks.
This unique set of melodies crosses the boundaries between folk and classical music in a delightful and accessible way. You'll find dance tunes, love songs, two pieces by the Earl Of Kelly (a former student of Stamitz), as wel as the first modern edition of James Oswald's Thistle Sonata.
Also suitable for the Flute and Oboe, the tunes make creative use of the Violin's first position, and are complimented by simple, effective accompaniments. There are also some newly researched authentic texts providing informative insights into the pieces and their composers.
An accompanying CD presents both demonstration recordings and play-along backing tracks.
