Our Director was the first of just three known works by Frederick Ellsworth Bigelow (1873-1929.) It was first published in 1895 and many arrangements were published throughout the 20th century. It ranks among the most often played and widely known of all American marches and it has become something of a recital and a parade favourite! It is a rousing song that will be as rewarding and pleasurable for audiences as well as Brass Bands!
This popular melody is in its original setting for Brass Band and this set of March Cards features a conductor's copy and an individual part for each instrument.
