Ten popular pieces representing a wide range of musical styles, from Bach to the present day, arranged for E Flat (Alto) or B Flat (Tenor) Saxophone, and Piano. All the numbers suit the idiosyncrasies of both tenor and alto saxophones equally well, which is unusual in a collection such as this.
These fantastic arrangements include works by Bach, Purcell, Faure, Bizet, Weill, Strachey and Link and Duke Ellington. James Rae has written so much for saxophone and here he comes forward with yet another enjoyable album, arranged skilfully as always, and containing some instructive as well as pleasing tunes.
