Exploring Jazz Piano 2 is an excellent and thoroughly comprehensive guide to harmony, technique and improvisation for Jazz Piano, written by jazz pianist Tim Richards. Building on the material covered in volume 1, the second book examines advanced jazz harmony and improvisation, introducing more colorful sounds, from sus-4 and sharp-11 chords to diminished and altered scales.

All of the styles featured in this book cover the periods from the 1940s to the 21st century. This is an excellent resource for those who play in a band, teach piano, or just enjoy playing as a soloist, whether at home or in concert. Thorough guidance and improvisation tips are given at all stages, suggesting ways of building on the written material and guiding the development of a personal vocabulary.
