I have tried various piano books for young students, in fact I think I have now tried everything on the current market. This is by far the best! The pieces are not too long which means that children with no prior musical knowledge can work through this at their own pace, while gifted children will get through it quicker while still being taught everything they need to know. I would recommend this to any teacher or student.
As you would expect, this carries on from the first book. Again, another clear tuition book to keep young students learning. I do find that about half way through the book the students tend to drag their heels slightly but after a certain point (Rock-a-bye baby) they're back on track again. All students especially love the elephant piece at the end despite it's difficulty rating!
I was also taught with these books and still find them fantastic and one of the best after students have learnt the basics. I do think though that they're no longer completely accurate for the grades they say. You may find students will finish the blue book and still need a bit more before studying for Grade 2 (as an example). There is still no doubt that this series is by far one of the better ones.
