A musical friend's daughter was playing "The Secret Garden" when we visited them and we loved it so much that I bought two copies!

My daughter was going off the piano, as the grade-one exam pieces were boring her. Since her school had done this musical, and she was constantly humming the songs, my cunning plan was to buy this book, especially given the other reviews here. It worked! She practices these pieces for fun now, which is the whole point, after all. Moreover, we are learning together, and I can handle them, too.

I bought this for "Suo Gan", which my wife fell in love with from seeing "Empire of the Sun". Unfortunately there are only four bars of it, I am pretty sure there ought to be more. OK, it's for kids, but I am trying to learn along with them. The pages are full of very pretty colour drawings.

I still think this is harder than other pieces rated a "2", with tricky rhythms, lots of accidentals, appoggiaturas, and ledger lines. It is a pretty book, but as a beginner I will not be using it.

I am a beginner and I am playing Bach! I heard about these pieces on the CD "Mr Bach Comes to Call". I think the fictional Johann there said "any idiot could play them" so I knew they were for me. I have practiced number 1 a zillion times and still need to work on a constant rhythm, but I still love playing it, which I cannot say for other pieces that I have mangled.
