I can recommend this book to the beginner/intermediate saxophone player who wants to get started on the jazz standards. You will find challenging pieces in most of the tunes, but after a bit of work you can enjoy the pleasure of having improved your play.

I can recommend this book if you are primarily interested in improvising. The "improvised" solos are quite inspiring though a bit challenging for the beginner/intermediate student. The melody solos are very basic and as "stand alone" they become boring.
