If you have a Stratocaster and echo-unit, you probably want to play a Hank Marvin/Shadows hit or two - just for fun. And here you have a few.
But there are some disappointments. The first thing you´ll notice is that the CD cannot be taken out of the sleeve without destroying it - the sleeve that is. The next thing is that some of the tracks do not at all sound like 'superb quality, live recorded tracks' - they sound more like midi files downloaded from the internet.
I have a few of the 'Play Guitar With...' series, I think they sound much better.

Six great Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac tunes. On the CD there are 4 versions of each song: The whole tune, the whole tune minus guitar, solo section slowed down and solo section backing track slowed down. The arrangements on the CD sound realistic. If you like Peter Green and/or want to start playing blues guitar, this is for you. You also get a biography.

I have always wanted to play "Sultans of Swing", and here it is, along with a few other great tunes. Great place to start with the "Play along with..." series.

This DVD is too simple, too short, too expensive. I expected a lot of tips about miking, use of effects etc, but most of the time it is just a guy talking straight into the camera. Out of 100 tips, of course there are some that can help improve your recordings. But you don´t need tips like "have a lot of coffee around" or "remember to have fun".
In the box there is a voucher for the "Home Recording Magazine". Too bad this magazine no longer exists - or maybe it is no great loss.

This book will lead you through the stages of making recordings in your home. In the beginning of the book there is a lot of reference to tape machines and other obsolete stuff. There is also a large chapter about your role as a producer - how to encourage your artists and so on, which you either will find very interesting or rather useless (if you are the artist yourself).
The rest of the book contains what you would expect: Microphone techniques, recording, editing, mixing and mastering. One great chapter I will use as a reference, are the tips on how to eq different instruments and vocals.
