Great book for beginners as it also explains the strumming patterns while most books only give you the chords. The songs are a bit old. I have friends who don't know songs like "Catch the wind" and it's hard to learn an unknown song. The reason I give only 3 stars is for the CD. The guitar on the CD is very difficult to hear.

What can I say? This is what got me started playing guitar. A must have. It takes you from the very beginning to blues and rock. The DVD format is great for rewind, pause, replay until you master the topics.

True it has all you ever wanted to know about guitars, the great players and even a section on how to repair your guitar. But the 3 stars is because this "revised version" needs another revision. The info is somewhat dated.
