Don't waste any more time trying to lift those tricky grooves off your record collection, just get them from this book! There are some really nice bits of bass in here - make your band mates think you really can play something decent after all. Excellent stuff at a very good price, and notation and tab makes it easier to get. I just wish it made me sound like Josquin des Pres ALL the time.

Very little info on fretless technique - it does say "fundamentals" in the title, but doesn't actually say how to, eg do a vibrato, tune up, adjust intonation, etc. It doesn't bother me, because I've played only fretless since '76, but if I'd just changed over from fretted, there's nothing in here to really help, apart from exercises you could get from any book. There are, however, some nice bits to pinch, which is why I've kept the book. Plus Bunny Brunel is so good on the CD it makes you sick!
