I am a big fan of this series. Sight reading is an art and some people are naturally better at it than others. Most students hate it because they feel they cannot prepare but with this book the teacher can break music down into its constituent parts, starting simply and gradually getting more complex. This way the students will be reading music fluently within months. I recommend this to anyone preparing for a graded exam as essential preparation.

I really like this book. It is aimed at the primary school aged learner and provides a very solid but fun introduction to violin playing. It contains lots of pictures, games and singing exercises which encourages good technique in a non-boring way and encourages the development of musicianship right from the beginning. It is well structured, is not too wordy and is well laid out, attractive but concise.
