Very nice typically rutteresque piece! Some very nice tonic suspensions, sixteen bars of a cappella in the middle. Oh, just for your info, the refrain is based on "ave maria" (coming from northern ireland, some school choirs ...). Being a John Rutter piece, the parts are all nicely written, each with a good melodic sense.

Couple of things: arranged for TWO pianists, and you do kind of need both of them to make the pachelbel effect work well (although the primo part is mainly right hand only and could be played by a student of around grade 5/6 standard). It is a nice, if very simple arrangement for the voices. Obviously the carol's meter has been changed to common time and the melody slightly adapted to fit the canon's harmonies. I would have felt a little mean giving this 3 stars, so i think 4 stars are just about there, but would recommend it for maybe a year 8/9 choir (11/12 year olds), probably not enough there for older choirs.

Really well known song among 11 to 15 year-olds. This is a good arrangement, but may take a little while for kids who don't know the original to get their heads around the rhythms. Rockin piano accomp which will require your full attention to get the most out of the syncopations. If your kids like this they'll probably like You are the music in me 2pt although it may not be cool enough - bit of a backlash now against high school musical among secondary kids!
