This edition of the classic 1914 work by Ralph Vaughan Williams is beautifully arranged. The Piano reduction manages to maintain the flow and emotion of the original orchestral arrangement. The Violin solo is accurately transcribed, perhaps a little light on direction when it comes to the volume and swells, but this can be assumed from the phrasing.
Although fairly easy to play it is a very demanding piece emotionally, and requires a fair bit of musical knowledge and feel for the piece to play well.
I recommend the Janine Jansen performance of the work for an idea of how it should sound!
On the whole a very lyrical and beautiful piece, and a delight to play.

I've had one of these pedals for years, and the design of them hasn't changed one bit. My one is now chipped and battered from the use and abuse that any guitarist will give his equipment, but that hasn't affected the sound or usability at all. You probably don't need telling, but this is the best wah pedal ever, just ask Hendrix!

I've used a selection of different Guitar peg winders as a Guitar tech, and this is the best one I've come across. The head allows for a large range of peg sizes, the handle is chunky and comfortable to hold. The rotating head is bolted into place, unlike other models that have a plastic pin that tends to loosen over time. If you are having to regularly string up Guitars, Basses, or any other instrument with mechanical tuning keys/pegs, then this is the best that you can get.

I'm not a great finger-picker, but found this book helped me along without the need for a lot of instruction (although each song does have an intro with guidance on how to play). Although a few songs weren't my cup of tea, I found that songs that normally grate on me (Adele in particular) became satisfying to play, as you can ignore the tempo of the original and play it how you want! If you're struggling with any parts you can just play the chords go give you an idea, and slowly develop your picking. A capo will be required to stay in the original key if you want to play along to a recording, but otherwise it's optional. Overall very enjoyable, and you'll quickly be building up the speed of your picking.

A well written guide to some of the most interesting and influential court cases in music history, starting with the story of Liberace and his battle with The Mirror, through to Shawn Fanning's Napster taking on the whole industry.
The chapters are well written, balancing the straight facts with opinion and quotes. All of the cases are relevant to the modern music industry, and all kinds of issues are dealt with, showing how opinions change so quickly through the 20th and 21st centuries.
I may now move on to Brian's book on Northern Songs and the story of the Beatles. A worthy read.

Having tried the range of different Norman Guitars, they're all superb in tone and build quality. The satin finish is very hard wearing and resistant to changes in humidity in a way that most gloss-finish Guitars are not. The low end of the sound is clear without any booming, and the mids are sharp and ring out beautifully. The top end was a little subdued for my liking, but this is down to personal preference. It's equally good as a strummer and a fingerpicking Guitar, and suitable for everyone from absolute beginner to advanced level players. The great looks are rounded off by the scratchplate, and high quality strings. A fantastic instrument for any Guitarist.
