A fantastic book of studies and exercises for Viola that has stood the test of time! Carl Flesch's Urstudien was originally written over a century ago and this work retains its value as a historical text, as well as a method for String instruments. This transcription by Max Rostal, from the original version for Violin, includes new photographs and he has supplemented Flesch's theory with more contemporary ideas whilst maintaining the original text.
With all the basics covered, this is a fantastic work that will aid extension, bow and finger technique as well as fluency and accuracy for all Viola players beginner to intermediate.
