Gabriel Faure’s 1895 work for Voice and Piano, Au bord de L’eau or By the Waterside is a prime example of his increasingly developed techniques and compositional skill. A stimulating and expressive piece utilizing alternation between major and minor modes to compound the sense of doubt evoked by the fabulous text.

This version is a wonderful arrangement for Baritone or Baritone in B Flat Solo and Piano accompaniment by Eric Wilson, a transcription suits the rich, regal bass tones of the instruments.
