Six vocal duets for Mezzo-soprano and Baritone with Piano accompaniment. Thomas Hardy, though well known, is regarded more as a writer of fiction rather than poetry, despite his own allusions and self-regard. His poems are without compare in English and these settings by Betty Roe emphasise the lyricism, form and masterful use of language.
