The 2005 album by Bloc Party shows a band transcending their influences, and shaking off the shackles of easy-definition to reinvent the post-punk sound for themselves. Established as part of the DFA-affiliated scene that included LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture, Bloc Party have succeeded in taking this disco/punk crossover to a wider audiences with songs of depth and significance that recall The Fall, Joy Division and Gang Of Four.
