Born in Tunisia in 1952, Christian Lauba has been a prominent contemporary composer, winning many prizes since his graduation from the Conservatory of Bordeaux during the mid-1980s. Lauba is particularly noted for his compositions for the Saxophones, such as Étude No. 11 for Baritone Saxophone and Prerecorded Synthesizer or Piano.
Concert For Quartet by Jeanine Rueff is a piece for four Saxophones (Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone). This edition features all the scores, including the conductor’s. Very difficult, it is dedicated to the “Marcel Mule Quartet”.
French composer and saxophonist, Robert Clérisse (1899-1973) is best known for founding the Marcel Mule Saxophone Quartet. As a prolific saxophonist, Clérisse's compositions are composed with a wealth of understanding, Varied Serenade being no exception.
