Richard Meek will be taking a break from singing, dancing and acting in the Rocky Horror Picture Show to impart his wisdom to youngsters in the region as part of the Youth Music Voices project.
The scheme is aimed at encouraging 14 to 19-year olds to get involved in the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games through singing and forms part of the wider London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
Taking place at The Garage in Norwich on Sunday July 18th, the open access workshop will give participants the chance to take part in a day of challenging vocal activities.
In addition to offering some excellent vocal training and performances, youngsters will be able to find out more about their local choirs and singing groups which they have the opportunity to get involved with.
Around 150 individuals from a range of cultures within the UK have been working together as the ‘Youth Music Voices Ensemble’ to produce a diverse and exciting mix of music during the build up to the Games.
All of the members of the specially-picked ensemble will have the opportunity to develop their musical skills to the highest standard before they are given the task of completing a performance at a prestigious location in the UK capital on the eve of the Games in 2012.
Youth Music Launch events will be taking place across the rest of the country from September 2010 and we will be announcing the dates and venues very soon, but if you would like to find out more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7902 1060.
