In Edinburgh for The Fringe, Tricity is keen to make the most of her time in the city, converting the masses to the ukulele and hooking up with local musicians.
Tricity will be presenting her free Ukulele Cabaret with special guests at Laughing Horse @ The Three Sisters and Laughing Horse @ The Pear Tree throughout The Fringe, but for one day only she will be in-store at Rae Macintosh Music to host a Ukulele Art Workshop.
Starting at 12pm on Saturday, 13th, Tricity will be live in-store to show us all how it’s done; playing a few tunes and helping proud new uke owners get to grips with their instruments. She will also be encouraging all budding artists to personalize their instrument at the ‘messy table’ where paint, glue and sequins provide the tools required to unleash new forms of musical masterpieces!
Anyone that comes on the day can join in – £16.99 buys you a ukulele and access to all the art materials. Alternatively, music fans can just come along and enjoy the spectacle.
“Ukuleles are the new black”, says Rae Mac’s Manager, Rae Lamond. “With our great Art Workshop they can be the new black, and gold, and green with red glitter. It’s great to have Tricity Vogue bringing her sparkle to our workshop and what better way to break in your newly glamorous instrument than to go to one of her free cabarets?”
Rae continues: “Rae Macintosh Music is a shop which has supported musicians in Edinburgh for nearly 170 years, but this is the first time it has forged links with a bona fide Fringe star. To encourage Tricity’s audience to take to four strings, we are also donating some suitably decorated ukuleles to her cabaret. During the show there will be opportunities to play along and with more instruments available, more people can be involved. We will be there on opening night, ukes – and sequins – at the ready!”
Tricity Vogue’s Ukulele Cabaret, – FREE. 9pm Sun-Thu 4-28 August, Laughing Horse @ Three Sisters, and 2pm 6, 20, 27 August, Laughing Horse @ Pear Tree.
