ARTPOP, the fourth album by Lady Gaga will be released as an app it has been revealed.
Writing on her Little Monsters website, the flamboyant artist posted that the album would be a “multimedia experience”, enabling fans to “fully immerse” themselves in the project.
Slated for release in spring 2013, ARTPOP will be available for a variety of platforms including mobile devices, with content such as additional music, videos, chat options and games included.
Building on her Twitter presence and social networking site, Little Monsters, Gaga says she plans to continue creating and developing her community through the app.
“You inspired me to create something that communicated with images, because YOU do, YOU communicate with me and each other. I’m hoping you will all continue to grow together and stay connected through your creativity.”
For more traditional fans, ARTPOP will also be physically and digitally released as a standard album and digital download. The accompanying album songbook will also be available from Musicroom.com.
