National Learn To Play Day at musicroom Edinburgh is set to be one of the biggest events of the day, joining music shops across the country opening their stores to the public for free music lessons and a chance to try an instrument for themselves!
The event won’t just be limited to the Queensferry Street musicroom store.
Six individual instrument workshops will take place across three West End venues, offering free lessons for the guitar, ukulele, fiddle, keyboard and flute. Edinburgh a cappella folk troupe, The Wild Myrtles, will also be offering sessions on vocals and part singing.
A short concert will follow featuring customers, teachers, staff and other friends of musicroom Edinburgh, with the evening closing with a grand finale, premiere performance of Anthony Mudge’s commissioned piece.
There will also be special on-the-day discounts, a prize draw and goodie bags for participants throughout the day.
The free taster workshops are scheduled as follows:

Guitar: Chris McKeown
Ukulele: Russell Watkins
Fiddle: Louise Mackenzie
