Learn To Play Day 2013: what’s on at your local Musicroom

Learn To Play Day returns on Saturday March 16 offering the UK public another chance to pick up and try a musical instrument, and receive a FREE lesson at stores nationwide.

LTP-logo-2013Musicroom are delighted to again be taking part in National Learn to Play Day, giving everyone a chance to discover their inner musician.

Last year’s event provided over 10,000 music lessons across the country, giving people the opportunity to pick up and play instruments of all types, shapes and styles, from the guitar and piano to orchestral and world music instruments.

While Learn To Play Day is open to all-comers, to avoid disappointment on the day, contact your local Musicroom store to reserve a place.

Learn To Play Day 2013 has received the backing of such stars as Jools Holland and comedian and drummer Al Murray. Music For All, the charity behind Learn To Play Day, recently announced that Jools is to become a patron of their organisation.

Speaking about this year’s special day, Jools Holland said: “I am delighted to help Music for All in their quest to inspire more people to participate in music making, either for the first time or to return to playing after having lapsed. I hope that my involvement will help the charity reach more people and get more people ‘having a go’.”

A recent survey undertaken by Arts Council England’s Take it Away scheme and parenting website Netmums found that nearly 73% of parents in the UK thought access to a free taster lesson would be a good way to encourage their child to take up an instrument.

Another 73% of parents also said that they learned to play an instrument as a child, but no longer play with 80% wishing they still did. Learn To Play Day is a great opportunity to get back into the swing of things.

If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at a specific instrument but never had the opportunity, now is your chance!

Perhaps you know someone who has always aspired to play music or wish they’d tried to play when they were younger?

Head down to the nearest Musicroom store near you on Saturday March 16 to receive a special, FREE lesson on an instrument of your choice.

Bring along your friends, family and anyone else who has ever wanted to give music a go!

Founded in 2006, Music For All has pioneered initiatives to promote ‘Learn to Play’ experiences to people of all ages and backgrounds, and to highlight the wide-ranging benefits of music making on their mission to “make more musicians.”

Avoid disappointment and book your FREE taster lesson now by contacting your nearest Musicroom store.
