Taking place at the Landmark Hotel, London the event saw its biggest audience to date, with awards being won left, right and centre.
Music Sales (Musicroom’s parent company) won the award for the ‘Best Pop Publication’ category for Glee the Music – Volume 1. Glee has been a fantastically successful television series and we hope the popularity continues as it encourages younger audiences to try their hand at learning to play an instrument.
Another publication which was awarded is The Oxford Book of Flexible Carols by Alan Bullard, which won the Best Classical Title category. This was the first of three awards for Bullard, as he also picked up the Innovation in Printed Music Publishing award and the Best Education Publication for his Joining the Dots sight reading method (published by ABRSM).
Roland UK walked away with the award for ‘Best Large Supplier’ while Yamaha UK Ltd won ‘Best Digital Piano’ for their Yamaha CLP-370.
The Industry Achievement award went to Bob Paxman for his lifelong work in the brass instrument industry and his maintenance of a successful British manufacturing operation.
This year also saw the introduction of the ‘Living Legend’ prize which was scooped by the founder of Peavey Europe – Ken Achard.
