Musical instruments can be a daunting purchase at the best of times, and in the current financial climate, guitars and saxophones can seem like an impractical luxury rather than an investment for the future.
Music making should be accessible to all and that’s why Musicroom’s 15 stores across England support Take It Away—an Arts Council England initiative aimed at helping parents and young people between the ages of 18 and 25 afford musical instruments and accessories.
To be eligible for the scheme, applicants are required to pay a minimum 10% of the loan amount at the point of sale, either by debit or credit card, or cash or cheque with proof of identity.
There are two repayment plans that are based on the cost of the purchase.
- For goods totalling between £100 and £2,000, the loan is paid back over a nine month period.
- Purchases worth between £800 and £5,000 are repaid over an 18 month period.
Take It Away loans are repaid in equal instalments via direct debit. There are no administrative charges or handling fees so you won’t pay more than the cost of your purchase. This offer is not valid for online purchases and is available to in-store Musicroom customers only.
In order to qualify applicants must be:
- Either over 18 years of age and buying an instrument for a child under the age of 18
- Or aged 18-25 years and applying in their own right
- A permanent UK resident
- Working at least 16 hours per week
