With the big day just a month away on July 27, the Turner Prize winning composer is seeking volunteers to take part in his special Olympic piece, Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes.
A less ambiguous title for a composition, you will not find!
Creed’s ambition is to have bells ringing up and down the UK for three minutes, from church towers, ships, government buildings and any other structure or venue that houses them – a feat which will require thousands people to take to their local bell ropes at 08:12 on July 27.
To find out how you can volunteer three minutes of your day to take part in this special, one-off event, and become part of Olympic history, visit allthebells.com and register your participation.
The nationwide performance is set to be broadcast by the BBC to a potential live audience of over 10 million people across their TV, radio and online broadcasts, including BBC Breakfast, The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and BBC local radio stations.
