The MMA Conference last weekend offered representatives from Rhinegold Education a great opportunity to meet and talk with teachers and educators from across the UK.
The event, based in Rugby School, Rugby, ran across 3 days and combined an exciting seminar programme with a trade fair, plus a conference dinner on the Saturday evening where delegates were hugely entertained by the school jazz band and choir.
Attending for Rhinegold Education, Marketing Manager Euan Philipps said the trade fair wasn’t just an opportunity to showcase new titles, but that the most important thing was speaking with teachers:
“The MMA Conference was a brilliant event, with teachers from all over the UK coming together to share their ideas about music education, and the enthusiasm and passion was clear.
Obviously it was great to be able to showcase new resources, especially our new Revision Guides which were very popular, but it was also extremely useful speaking directly with our customers, so we can understand the key issues affecting them and continue to publish the resources that they really need.”
But it wasn’t just printed resources that seemed to capture delegates’ attention, this year there was a lot of interest in bringing digital technology into the music classroom:
“We spoke to a lot of teachers who expressed an interest in using technology more in their lessons. This is something which other subjects such as Science and Maths have embraced and there was a lot of focus on this in the seminar programme, it seems like something music teachers really want to utilise more and more.
At Rhinegold we are really looking forward to investing in this area, to ensure that we can continue to supply music teachers with the support that they need and are already asking for.
I just want to thank all the delegates who visited us for their time, and I look forward to seeing them all again next year”.
