The Reading and Leeds festivals have been a stable feature on the calendar for a number of years now and regularly attract some of the biggest and best names in music as headlines acts.
And following on from that success, festival organisers have now revealed the full line-up for 2011.
Indeed, Muse have become the final act to be confirmed as headliners for the event, alongside My Chemical Romance and The Strokes. The festivals will take place at Reading’s Little John’s farm and Leeds’ Bramham Park between August 26th and 28th.
The English alternative rock band are known for their energetic and extravagant live performances and their fusion of many music genres, including progressive rock, alternative rock, space rock, pop music, heavy metal and electronica.
Last year, Muse were the headline act at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts.
Speaking to the BBC, Gerard Way, frontman of fellow headliners My Chemical Romance, commented on the line-up: “We’re honoured to be sharing headlining with them. The Strokes are one of our all time favourite bands.”
Also set to be performing at the two events are newly reformed Brit-pop group Pulp, who have been named as co-headliners.
While bands scheduled to play the NME/Radio 1 stage include Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye, White Lies, Jane’s Addiction, Crystal Castles, 2ManyDJs and The Streets.
Now that the line-ups have been confirmed, all festival-goers can do now is hope the Great British weather holds out!
