A wonderful book for all skills! The very common 'French Book' is great because it features several wonderful pieces and composers, including the basic Chaminade's Concertino and Faure's Fantasie, as well as Ernesto's Cantabile et Presto. Each piece is a great blend of lyrical and technical passages. Get this book!!

I am about to begin my study of this piece and I can't stop listening to my recordings of it. Also, the Sonata was influenced not only by the church bells from the tower where his father worked, but the whippoorwill - or the call of the bird - appears in the 3rd movement. A wonderful sonata - one of my favorites.
