I always use the John Thompson Modern Course for adult students, but it doesn't suit children so I thought I'd try this out and I'm very happy with it! It progresses very gently, with a new note every few pages and constant revision over the notes learnt, whether from reading drills or theory worksheets. The children also love the pictures, of which there are just enough to keep interest without being distracted.

This book is a must have! My copy has been used probably more than any other piano book I have and is a staple part of my teaching material from grade 4 and up.

A very good selection of pieces - a slightly better collection than the Jazzin' About duet book. Very suitable for teacher/pupil duets as one of the parts is always easier and marked as such in the title. Unlike many duet books, the easier part isn't confined to the primo. The less advanced pianist has opportunities to play secondo parts too. There is great humour in the pieces and I expect my copy to become well worn over the next few weeks! Recommended.

I think the Modern Course for Piano is an essential tutor book for adult and advanced students. There is plenty of description about the pieces and music styling. What attracts me the most to this series is the technical development that can be achieved through the choice of pieces. Unlike many tutor books which are designed to help the student learn to read music and shape it, the pieces in this series go beyond that and offer scope for a lot of technical work. A must have!

Wonderful! I own a few of the Strauss Polka duets and they are all great fun and well arranged. You can't help but smile when playing these!

A very nice arrangement, not too difficult. Should be manageable for pianists from grade 4 standard. The pianos converse well together to create the choral feel needed for the piece.

These arrangements of the Strauss Polkas are all fantastic. If you enjoy fun duets which bring a smile to your face, then you should have some of these in your collection!
