I think this book actually makes you a complete guitar player! You learn things like strumming styles, picking styles, hammerons, pulloffs etc. Perfect for beginners, but advanced players can also learn some new things with this book. It includes some nice, famous songs, though it only contains small parts of the songs and not the complete songs. I don't regret having bought it, though.

Quite a collection of Beatles songs.
If you were planning on buying one of 3 "Play guitar with Beatles" books, I think you'd be better off if you buy this one instead.
It features enough nice songs to get your money's worth.

A fairly good play-along book. It does indeed include some of the greatest hits of the Stones, but I think not all the songs are as satisfying to play. For example, "Paint it black" sounds good when played by the Stones, but playing it myself, I found that a lot of parts of the song were merely supportive rather than essential, if you know what I mean. Other songs are easy to play and still give satisfaction if you're able to play them, like "Jumping Jack Flash""and "Satisfaction". And then there's also songs that are hard to play, but give lots of joy when you're able to play them, like "Brown Sugar".
Furthermore, I think an acoustic song would be welcome as well, as not one is present in this book.

And we have another winner! Yet another great book out of the "Play Guitar With.."series. Includes five of their greatest hits and two other great Dire Straits songs. It teaches you to work with alternative tuning and different playing styles. It comes with an accurate and clear tabulature and a fairly good backing cd. If you buy this one, you won't regret it, especially if you're in to Dire Straits.

A very good book with only a few misprints. Excellent CD, which sounds almost as good as the original recordings. I wouldn't recommend this book to beginners though, as there's a lot of heavy solos in there, which I still can't perform with 100% accuracy.

On the one hand this is a great book, because there's some great solos and riffs in the book.
On the other hand you'll have to have certain equipment at your disposal, such as the right guitar and the right amp, otherwise your playing just won't sound exactly like the Queen sound, which is a very unique sound.
That is one of the problems I had.
Another problem is that a lot of the guitar parts are multiple-guitar parts, making it hard to play certain parts on your own.
The last disadvantage is that this isn't quite stuff for beginners, but one could expect that,of course.
The good thing is,that once you get the hang of it,it's great fun to play.
Plus there's a good cd you get with the book.

Great songs, accurate tab,but also a lot of difficult to read-tab,but that of course is due to the unique style that Jimi had, always finding unique chords and thus creating a unique sound.
Very good for medium-skilled guitar players,it really helps you develop your skills.
NOT suitable for beginners though!(Unless you happen to be a real talent,of course)

Another good book out of the Play Guitar With...series,featuring,in my opinion, some of the best songs by Eric Clapton. The songs are mostly in the usual picking style, except for 'Tears in Heaven,'which has to be played fingerstyle. Very much fun and also very good for a guitar player's development.

Although I'm not really a big Santana fan, this book definitely is worth buying. It includes one of the best songs ever made (at least in my opinion), samba pa ti. These songs can make you a real guitar hero, cause the solos are great. But to be honest, some of the solos are just too long. Anyway, if you're looking for some good Santana material, I think you should buy this book. It features all the songs by Santana I knew.

Acoustic guitar at it's best.
This book offers some great songs, using different guitar playing styles.
The accompanying CD is a welcome support to teach you how to play these songs, because sometimes it's hard playing a song the right way if you only have tablature.
Well worth buying.
