My son and I play trumpet together, and we've had a lot of fun with this book. I can highly recommend it. My son is soon to do Grade 1 trumpet, and they're pitched at just the right level for him. It has a wide variety of fun tunes, from classical, to TV, to pop. However, a warning, not all of the tunes have accompaniments on the CD (35 I think). I only didn't give it 5 stars because the backing tracks, although good, are only piano and drums, rather than the full band sound you get with something like the Guest Spot series.

A brilliant book. Certainly amongst my top favourites Music/CD books, with some classic blues melodies that are fun to learn and which everyone knows, such as "Midnight", "Hit the Road Jack" and my favourite, "I wish I knew how it would feel to be free". I'm to do grade 4 tenor sax soon, and it's at the right level for me, with a few challenging ones to learn. A very high recommendation for any tenor sax player.

My all time favourite tenor sax Music/CD book. Good backings (although not outstanding like the Guest Spot series), but great new original compositions to learn which are challenging and in a wide variety of styles. Pieces start off easy (grade 1 standard), and gradually progress, getting harder. I'm grade 4 standard and I've been working my way through the book and am just over half way. Great value for money, and the CD comes with extras such as duets and piano scores etc. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
