Since meeting at college Muse have pushed themselves into rock history somewhere between Radiohead and Rage Against The Machine. Apart from Matt's individual vocal style, you can spot Muse by the effect-laden Guitar and Bass sounds, which use custom pitch-shifting and arpeggio units to create textures and tones that are otherwise impossible.
Their debut
Showbiz gained them a strong following and media attention from the NME and radio stations. The real step-up was felt with the second release,
Origin of Symmetry which unleashed powerful Piano lines in tracks like Space Dementia and New Born, and some of the most incredibly catchy riffs for years with Plug In Baby.
Fans are hoping for another studio release in 2009, but 2006's Black Holes and Revelations is still strong, while songs featured in the gothic vampire romance Twilight, and the live album HAARP from 2008, shows their continuing popularity.
