How to Maximise your Sales - General Concepts
There are a number of things that you can do in order to greatly increase your commission while also increasing your site's appeal and content. Here you will find general rules explaining what you need to keep in mind when creating the links and specific details on what you actually could do with deep linking to products.
If you really want to make the most of your affiliate program there are a certain number of things you should know when linking to Musicroom:
Make all your links as contextually relevant as possible. For example, if you have a guitar page, place a link on that to our guitar department rather than to our homepage (the same goes for piano pages, classical pages and so on). Always think of what the people visiting the particular page of your site are looking for or might be interested in (given the context of the page), target them and give them exactly what they want. The deeper the link to Musicroom (as long as it is kept in the context of the page linked from) the less effort the visitor needs to make and the more likely he is to purchase. Look through our site and find the products that will interest your visitors.
Wherever possible try and post specific products on your site (with the picture, description, price and a clearly visible link to the relevant Musicroom product page), again these products must fit with the visitor's expectation of what he will find on this page of your website.
Give your visitors as much help as you can, make the links to Musicroom clear and as user friendly as possible.
Integrate the links to your site as best you can. You can do this by designing the links to fit in with your existing site's design. Generally people don't much like advertising, so if you can keep the links as integrated to the content of your web pages (through design and subject matter) you'll be doing well.
If you have a shopping section it is a good idea to post our products in it. Visitors who visit these kinds of sections are generally more willing to make a purchase as they are in the right frame of mind. If your site generally isn't geared to selling any kind of products then creating a shopping section might be a good idea; and if you place products for sale in the middle of otherwise free content you must remember to choose items as relevant to the page content as possible, otherwise your visitors just won't be interested and won't click through. If you do decide to create a shopping section you should divide it into relevant sections, making it as easy as possible for your visitors to find exactly what they want.
Try to think of yourself as a music shop, because that is effectively what you become (aside from the other features of your site) once you join the Musicroom affiliate program, the more sales you send our way the more commission you make. You don't have to be a specialist site to think in this way - just pick a range of titles that you think your visitors would like, you can then refine your shop in time (in view of the statistics you will glean from your affiliate login and with our help).
If you follow these simple guidelines your visitors will be much more likely to buy something from us and earn you a commission.
Furthermore, these guidelines will also increase your site's general appeal as it will create new, interesting and unobtrusive content which will be sure to attract new visitors and keep regulars interested.
An Example
Here is a site that has applied all of these guidelines and has become one of our top affiliates:
www.drum-sets-for-sale.com  : The links are at the bottom of the page (in the middle and on the right).
If you go through the guidelines above you will see that every one of them has been applied successfully here and has had a dramatic effect on sales.
Now you can go on to read our deep linking section, which will explain what to do in practice and give you some interesting examples of successful affiliates.
