Frequently Asked Questions

If you're not sure if you want to join our Affiliate programme, or if you've been having problems with either signing up to it, implementing it, or running it, we've probably got the answer to your questions here.

If you can't find what you're looking for here, please feel free to email affiliates@musicroom.com, and we will attempt to get back to you as soon as possible.

I was a member of the old program. What happened?

We have upgraded our affiliate software. If you have previously been an affiliate of Musicroom.com, you need to re-register. You will be given a new affiliate id. There are also newer, simpler ways of linking through to us, better reporting, and a longer tracking period for visitors that you refer to Musicroom.com. IMPORTANT: Commissions on any sales that you refer to us after Friday 15th August 2003 will not be calculated. Please ensure you have re-registered and changed your links to us by then. If you need help doing this, please contact us. On 15th August we will send you an invoice showing the amount of commission outstanding on your existing account - we will then need you to fill in payment details so that we can settle up with you. From that point on, we will only be accounting to you through the new software.

Can I swap links with you?

No, even better! We don't usually put links from Musicroom.com to other peoples' sites, but we do pay real money to anyone that links to us. Your site becomes a miniature shop and you get a certain percentage of any sales that come to us from your site.

What sort of sites can be affiliates?

All sorts of sites link to Musicroom.com, from fan-sites and official artist pages right through to general music and musician's sites and virtual shopping malls. Some may make a lot of money from us, others may only send us a couple of visitors a year, but no-one loses out as it's completely free to become an affiliate.

How do I buy and sell from you?

You don't. You don't need to order from us, buy stock from us, send any money or sell anything for us. Just link to our site in the way which suits you best, and we will log everyone that comes from your site, and send you your percentage.

How do I get paid?

You earn a commission based on a percentage of the sale price of all the products sold through your site (it currently ranges from 5% to 5%). If you earn more than £25 in a month, we will send you a cheque another month later. If you earn less than £25, we will wait until the total amount we owe you is at least £25 and then send it, unless you terminate your agreement with us, in which case we will send it to you straight away.

See our Affiliate Operating Agreement for full details.

Please note that visitors can refuse cookies being stored on their computer or delete the existing cookies stored on their computer at any time. Musicroom.com declines any responsibility with regard to sales which could not be tracked or added to the Affiliate Account as a result of this.
